Planning your event

What should you plan for?

Turkish in Türkiye and Cyprus

Türkiye’s constitution names Turkish as its language in Article 3. Cyprus’s constitution designates Greek and Turkish as the Republic’s official languages. The UK’s Permanent Committee on Geographical Names describes Turkish as written in Roman script.

Ask delegates from these countries which translation they want, separately from the stage programme. A contribution in Turkish can also be translated into another supported language. Different participants may therefore need translation in both directions on the same event programme.

Türkçe gives guests Turkish navigation

After Türkçe is selected, the listener sees “Nasıl takip etmek istersiniz?”. Dinle chooses listening and Oku chooses reading. The interface keeps its instructions in the attendee’s chosen language, with both modes following the same translated programme.
