Planning your event

What should you plan for?

Macedonian’s language and alphabet provision

North Macedonia’s constitution names Macedonian, written in its Cyrillic alphabet, as the official language throughout the republic. The language and its written form are part of the same constitutional provision.

Baian also uses Cyrillic for Macedonian output. Include the script in your event’s translation description and explain that attendees will read the translation.

Македонски leads directly to live text

Choosing Македонски skips a listen-or-read screen and opens the translation. Attendees read Cyrillic text; Macedonian is text only. The remaining interface stays in English, so name the language button in instructions and explain the controls guests will encounter.

Speaking Macedonian is a separate capability

A presenter can speak Macedonian and be translated into other supported audience languages. Attendees choosing Macedonian receive written output. Confirm the speaker’s language and whether guests expect audio when collecting translation requirements.
