Planning your event

What should you plan for?

Italian across national and European institutions

Italy names Italian as its official language. The Swiss Confederation has German, French and Italian as official languages. Italian has also been an EU official language since 1958.

The OSCE names the following working languages: “English, French, German, Italian, Russian and Spanish.” For an event involving these institutions or delegations, ask attendees which translation they want to follow. Record that choice separately from the languages presenters will use in their contributions.

Italiano keeps the listener page in Italian

Choosing Italiano brings up “Come preferisci seguire?”. Ascolta starts listening, while Leggi opens the written translation. The following screens are in the selected language too. Attendees can listen to the translation through their own headphones or read the programme as text.
