Planning your event

What should you plan for?

Albanian audiences across three countries

Albania names Albanian as its official language. Kosovo’s constitution names Albanian and Serbian as official languages. Montenegro’s government includes Albanian among languages in official use and says classes are held in that language.

A delegation’s country alone will not tell you which translation its members prefer. If your meeting draws people from these countries, ask who wants Albanian text and explain the reading format in the invitation.

Shqip goes straight to reading

Choosing Shqip opens the live text directly, with phone screens in Albanian. Attendees read the translation on their phones; it is text only, so there is no listen-or-read choice.

A written channel needs a reading audience

The language can also be spoken on stage and translated into other supported languages. For attendees choosing this channel, provide a sample of the text view so they can decide whether reading during the programme suits them.
