Compare event interpretation

Baian vs KUDO: AI interpreter or interpreter booth?

Baian is a KUDO alternative for organisers who want AI interpretation from stage audio to attendees’ phones. KUDO also supplies human interpretation, so the decision includes whether your event needs a professional interpreter service as well as AI.

The practical differences

What else should you compare?

Separate KUDO’s AI and human language counts

KUDO’s published facts were checked on 11 October 2026. Its human service covers 200 spoken and sign languages. Its AI catalogue lists 77 languages across Audio & Captions and Captions-Only modes, so check which required languages have audio.

KUDO AI permits custom glossary uploads for specific subject matter. Try names and terms from your programme when assessing the feature; a general language demonstration may not cover them.

Where KUDO is stronger

KUDO advertises 12,000 professional interpreters available on demand. That is a reason to consider it when the organiser wants human interpretation. Its documented Teams connection also matters if the programme already runs inside that platform.

KUDO’s June 2025 release announces its fourth consecutive SOC 2 Type 2 attestation and a transition to ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification. Ask for current documentation and scope if those credentials are a procurement condition.

Baian’s stage audio connection for venues

For an AV team replacing interpreters, booths and receivers, Baian runs in a laptop browser with a clean feed from the sound desk. Use the mixer’s supported USB connection or a USB audio interface. Attendees scan the QR code, select a language and read or listen through their own headphones.

Existing headset systems can remain in use: Baian’s headset output sends supported language audio to two or four separate channels on a compatible audio interface. The AV team connects those channels to the existing headset or infrared system and tests every language on the real receivers.
